Post Red Hat Problems..

During the installation of Linux Red Hat they ask me to choose my video card name normally Red Hat is supposed to detect it automatically but, i don't know why but it fails. So select manually my video card. The installation was finished my PC was booting linux.. when the boot finished I'm supposed to see the Red Hat interface but i just saw red green yellow stripes in my screen. SO i think the problem that Red Hat don't detect my video card correctly. So i can't go in "graphic" mod (i can but i didn't see anything), i want to change my video card configuration in text mod, but I'm a linux so i don't know a lot of commands...
Can you explain me how to change my video card configuration in text mod?? When i say "configuration" it means the kind of video card...

Plz answer me !

I'm not so good in English so forgive my errors plz :P

run xf86config as its a command line utility to reconfigure your video card and settings.

If you're set to boot into graphical mode automatically, you might not be able to see anything in order to fix it, right? Well, once it's booted up, and you think you are on the graphical login screen, hit CTRL+ALT+F1 on your keyboard and it will take you to a normal text-based terminal. Once there, you can use the command posted above.

I would personally suggest

# X -configure

There have been times for me when xf86config didn't work, especially with nVidia cards. You should also find the manual for your monitor, if you don't have it, download it from the net. Get the vertical and horizontal refresh rates, and specify them in your XF86config file. If you use "X -configure" you will also have to specify your screen resolutions. Here is an example of my various sections.

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "ATI Graphics Adapter"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24

Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600"
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
EndSection

For the screen resolutions, and

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
HorizSync 30-85
VertRefresh 50-160
Option "DPMS"
EndSection

For my monitor config.
