I know everybody has their preferences when it comes to a distro, but I need some help selecting one. I have some criteria though.

One Disc - I do not have internet access for my personal computer, so I need a distro that fits onto one CD

Good Hardware Recognition - I have a laptop, and I need access to my four pin fire wire port so I can connect my iPod

Rip MP3's - I need to be able to rip my newly purchased CD's into MP3's

I currently use Kanotix, and it is a great distro, but without an internet connection, I can't get Lame to rip the MP3's. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Finding a full featured distro that fits on one cd nowadays is kind of rare, unless you go with Knoppix or the like. Perhaps you just need to browse www.distrowatch.com and look for distro's that only use one install cd, since that would be the limiting factor I think in your criteria since everything else pretty much works with any distro.
