re-installing winXP wit linux

hello ..

i have dual OS in my system .winXP and RH8 . RH8 is working fine ( i am using it right now )
know i some how really messed up my winXP so i need to re-install for tht i want to format my c Drive .. if i do that i'll also loose the bootloader .. then i wont be able to boot linux again ..

how can i prevent that from happening .

Just let it overwrite the boot loader then:
1) boot with CD1
2) at the "boot:" prompt type "linux rescue"
3) once the system has booted run "chroot /mnt/sysimage"
4) Run the grub install "/sbin/grub-install /dev/hda"
5) Remove the cd and reboot "shutdown -r now"

thanks for the help .. i'll try this procedure tomorow and tell you if i was successfull or not ..
