Querry regarding ps command

Hi,

When we use ps command there is a field called TIME, I didn't undestand what that exactly indicates. Since almost all the time it shows 00:00:00 for the most of the processes.

when i looked in "man 5 proc" page, i found the time fields as
"stime"
"cutime"
"cstime"
which were in giffy format...can u plz explain abt the conversion of this in to human redable format..... and also explain the TIME field.

Can I ask why you decided to ask your questions in this forum. This is the LUG's(Linux Users Group) forum for ppl to talk about their local LUG's. This is not to ask solutions.

You should have lookeda t all the forums available and then made the post accordingly.

Regards.

shivanandbg - as stated by LinuxLala, this forum is for Linux User Groups. Posting incorrectly can often mean that your post is overlooked.

Moved to Linux-General, where your thread should get the attention it deserves.
