Problems in 2.6.2

I've just got 2.6.2 I was using 2.6.1 previously, so I did everything like make oldconfig and everything went well, when I booted into 2.6.2 there wasn't any problems that I noticed, but when I tried to start x my mouse doesn't move at all. How could I correct this problem.

You might want to go back and check your kernel config. When I went from 2.6.0 to 2.6.1 I did a make oldconfig and while the kernel compiled and ran, it turns out that make oldconfig didn't really copy the old configuration very well. There were definitely important bits (like my ethernet card) that I had compiled into the old kernel, but weren't transfered by make oldconfig.

I went back to check it, and it seems that everything was done correctly (including the mouse) so I have no clue why it wouldn't work now.

I had the same problem. I had to modprobe mousedev and psmouse after booting 2.6.2. I don't know why, but it has worked ever since then.
