Angry Print to PDF configuration under SuSE 10.0

I'm trying to set up my PC to be able to scan documents and save them as PDF's. The distro comes with a number of scanning utilities, however none of them have built in "save as PDF" functionality.

The obvious way forward is to use the "Print to File (PDF)" virtual printer included with the distribution.

The problem is I'm having problems configuring it. Part of the problem seems to be that I have a remote printer (it's attached to a Buffalo Linkstation, set up as a local queue).

Does anyone have, or can direct me to, an idiot's guide to configuring the virtual printer?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Peter

You should be able to do something like this with OpenOffice. It supports scanning (at least as a picture) and saving to a PDF file.
