Patching Kernel

I would like to add a patch to my 2.4.20 source code, how do I do it?

Also, how do I run a script (where do I put it) when I log off KDE??

Patch your kernel thusly:

In your kernel directory, if the patch is in /usr/src and the kernel is /usr/src/linux-2.4.20:

patch -p1 < ../patch.patch

or

gunzip ../patch.gz | patch -p1

or

bunzip2 ../patch.bz2 | patch -p1
