Optical mouse stops working, in Fedora 7, Ubuntu 7.04
I'm just trying to upgrade or replace CentOS 4.5 on my PC. For starters I'm testing Fedora 7, Ubuntu 7.04 and CentOS 5
In CentOS 4.5 about once or twice a day the mouse stops working (no mouse movement). Unplugging the (USB) cable and re-plugging it usually solves this
In Fedora 7 and Ubunto 7.04 within 5 minutes the mouse stops working. I can still use the keyboard. As far as I know the only way to fix this is to reboot the pc
I haven't tried CentOS 5 yet
Specification:
Mesh Elite(2) Power SLI
Intel CoreT 2 Due E640G
Nothing connected to any of the other USB ports
I've tried two different mice, both with the same results
Not sure if it is relevant, but during booting I've received following error messages (not sure which distro, can find out if relevant):
USB 2-1: Unable to read config index 0
Error receiving uevent message: no buffer space available
Internet searches so far fruitless
Any suggestions?
Thanks
