Exclamation no daemon present

hi guys...

our lpq command keeps telling us that we have no daemon present and it's making our printers pause out. When i go into the command promt (i telnet into our server) i check the print queue to see what's there using lpq, then if there print job that 's there is the one that's holding us up I usually use the lprm command.... this fixes the problem unitl we go to print next... I know that i can also use the lpc command, buti can't quite remember the commands to use it once i'm in there to check what printer is giving us the problem.. can anyone help me?

thxs

kennie

use
Code:
lpc status
to check the status of your printer(s). You might want to check that everything is correct with /etc/printcap, like spool directories etc... Things like
Code:
lpc restart printerName
and
Code:
lpc stop printerName
might also be useful for you.

cheers

Jamie...
