NFS installation server problem


I am using redhat enterprise linux 4. I am trying to set up a NFS installation server. I did the following but still getting an error "That directory could not be mounted from the server". I am kinda new to linux and trying to learn many wonderful features of linux. Any help will be highly appreciated.

[root@RHCE firefox]# showmount -e
Export list for RHCE:
/mnt/inst 192.168.0.104

I dont know if it matters I have the NFS server and the client pc (where i will install RHEL) connected to a D_link DSL router. the server ip address 192.168.0.104 the client IP 192.168.0.101 (I have selected DHCP for IP configuration on the client PC)

still stuck with that but notice another error

"mount=bad file number"

what does this mean?
