NFS Installation problem

I'm new to linux and i'm trying to install slackware on an old computer (P233 MMX) that has no cd drive, so the only way is through an nfs server.
Everything goes fine until i get to "Install" of the setup menu. i can choose any type of install, (full, menu, newbie, anything..), all i get is some console errors (that disappear very quickly). It says:
/usr/lib/setup/setup: cannot create /mnt/etc/fstab: no such file or directory

I tried to create the directory myself, and got a little further, but still get many other errors.

Any idea?
The nfs server seems to be working fine, so i must have done something wrong elsewhere..

Thanks!!
