naming your computer (hostname)


In redhat 7.3 how would I go on and change my computers name?
Is there some command to do it or what files do I need to edit?
It is user@localhost atm which doesn't look nice.

the hostname command changes it.. man hostname for more info.

can I just do this without braking anything:
as root:
hostname name

and that would be it?

yes that would do it. man hostname like mentioned before and as acid clarified gives more options and information regarding in changing your hostname on your system.
