Question multiple home desktop icons - gnome 2.4

I have a bit of a strange problem, when I start up gnome as either root or a regular user, there are 2 copies of the home icon on my desktop. I've gone through gconf-editor and didn't find a setting to fix this issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
