mozilla scrolling going nuts

When I use the down or up arrows by clicking on them once or twice etc my screen starts to scroll and never stop till it get to the bottom of a page or something. This is very annoying when trying to read something.

It is very jumpy too.
Is there a setting for this. i have looked all over in Mozilla.

I have 1.5G memory on the laptop so i dont think is memory related. but may be it is? Or display related?

Its like Mozilla looses is mind or something. I cannot click on it or do anything with it. Sometimes i have to kill it. to get it to respond.

well its a recent install Ununtu 9.10 but it would do this under 9.4 on occasion. But now more and more often. It was fine under 9.10 for a while. I wonder if they patched something that messed it up.

Too I get slow response. when typing. I just noticed that while i am trying to update this post.

The HDW is an IBM R51 laptop. if the helps.

What might helps is if you do know the type of you're graphic card.
And Ubuntu do have a hardware database for the support hardware.
If you are in the terminal give the command lspci it gives you a lot of information about you're hardware and post it maybe we can help you out.

I am still having this issue if anyone has any more input. I dont seem to be able to find any new driver for the video so I dont know whats goin gon.

Could I be low memory? Not sure how that could be as I an only running Firefox and it still happens. Not running any other apps

Thanx

this is getting really annoying. I had to kill my firefox time and time again. It seem to just lock up now and wont respond.

I wonder if I should uninstall and reinstall it?

My system is fully patched.
