Mozilla, Firefox, Tbird don't see all avialable fonts on all users

Have installed newest versions of Mozilla, Firefox and last night Thunderbird; am having an odd problem. First, system config:

P-4 w/1Gb Mandrake 9.2 system using 2 older (but real nice) computers and one new HP laptop as X terminals, so all the action is on the "big box". Problem only with Mozilla apps.

Using 4 different user logins, I get access to all available fonts on two users, only the original set with the other two. The odd thing is, one of the users that cannot see all fonts is the newest account, created after the fonts were installed.

The problem is associated with the user, regardless of login terminal.

I use KDE & WindowMaker, and all accounts are set up with KDE, fully configured, and everything works before I ever run WindowMaker. The problem with Mozilla, etc. is present in both environments.

All other apps see all the fonts, everything looks and works great. It would just be nice to have access to all my fonts with all my users, I don't really like Helvetica.....

I've looked at files until I'm cross-eyed. Anybody got any idea what could be doing this?

Oh, I run the apps from one location, but then installed Firefox into each individual user to see if that would fix the problem - no joy.

This is weird.

Thanks!!!
