Moved log files

I recently moved my log files from /var/log to /usr/log on my Red Hat 7.2 system. I did this because I stupidly made the /var partition only 250meg and I had both the log files and user emailboxes being stored there(pop users only).

So I moved all the logs to /usr/log, changed syslog.conf to point to the new directory, and also set the permissions the same.

I was just wondering if anyone thinks this will cause any problems?

Thanks,
MT

It shouldn't cause any problems that I know of. I think a symlink would have worked also possibly. But log files can be anywhere you want them to be.
