Mounting Dos partition failed!!

Hi,
I created a Dos partition using DiskDruid while installation but linux does not mount it.

[root@linux named]# mount /dev/hda9
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda9,
or too many mounted file systems
[root@linux named]#

This is what my fstab shows
LABEL=/ / ext2 defaults 1 1
LABEL=/boot /boot ext2 defaults 1 2
/dev/hda9 /dos vfat defaults 0 0
LABEL=/home /home ext2 defaults 1 2
/dev/fd0 mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner 0 0
LABEL=/opt /opt ext2 defaults 1 2
LABEL=/opt/wiplash/mp3 /opt/wiplash/mp3s ext2 defaults 1 2
LABEL=/usr /usr ext2 defaults 1 2
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
/dev/hda8 swap swap defaults 0 0

What could be the reason?

regards
Krishna

you've not formatted? there's usually a distinct difference between craeting partition boundaries and defining it's type in a FAT table, and actaully creating the filesystem. you can use fdisk to change an ext2 partition to fat32, but it'll normally still work as ext2, until you go and format the thing.
