monitoring a port

I need to monitor tcp port 80 on a linux box. How do I go about doing that or maybe a little more general. What is the best monitoring tool on a linux box. I have been using tcpdump.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

What values are you after? The actual content,
or just the size & src/dst addresses? :)

Cheers,
Tink

OK, and what defines "the best monitoring tool"?

You could have a look at
http://www.ntop.org/ntop.html
http://reptile.rug.ac.be/~coder/sniffit/sniffit.html
http://www.ethereal.com/
to name justa few, or stick with tcpdump
since you're not hunting down other stuff
than tcp IP packets on port 80.

Cheers,
Tink

If its only src+dst on TCP/80, why not just add a firewall log target rule?
