Exclamation migrating users between 2 linux servers

Hello folks,

here's the situation:
i have a server with red hat 3 and a brand new one with sles 9, and i have 5 users created in the rh, and i would like to move them to the new one (entire /home of each one).

so i created the users on my sles and i set the same passwords of the rh, but i got a different /etc/passwd.

in the rd, when each user was created, it got an own group, but in the sles all of them are in the same group, for example:

rh:
user1:x:507:507::/home/user1:/bin/bash
user2:x:512:512::/home/user2:/bin/bash
user3:x:508:504::/home/user3:/bin/bash

sles
user1:x:1002:100:user1:/home/user1:/bin/bash
user2:x:1003:100:user2:/home/user2:/bin/bash
user3:x:1005:100:user3:/home/user3:/bin/bash

so, can anyone tell me what's the best way to migrate them...?

thank you tinkster
but usermod modifies the user's account, and i don't want to modify it, i just wan to move from server A (red hat) to server B (sles).

i know that perhaps i'm missing something, can yo please be more specific?

how much more specific than asking you to search for
-u in the man page can I be? That's what you want to
achieve. Have the guys have the same uid on both systems,
no?

Cheers,
Tink
