Md5


I have downloaded a new distro and I want to verify that the iso I downloaded is not corrupted. I heard that to verify this I must use a file called MD5. I found this file, but now what?

I am currently downloading the second iso (via windows) so I cannot access my Linux partition now. Please, If you can, tell me what do I have to do to use the md5 file.

if you can't access the linux partition, you can read man md5 from the forum man pages here.

There's also a nice md5 app with a gui for windows, on this homepage
