Angry Mandrake 9.2 problems

Okay, I just installed Mandrake 9.2 and I'm having some weird problems with it. The first time I installed it it crashed during install, but when I restarted it seemed to continue on where it left off and completed. So I get to my K desktop and for some reason there are very few things on the K start menu. drakConf was not installed, nor was rpmDrake. So I got those installed and they showed up on the start menu. Then I installed Mozilla and drakConf disappeared from the menu. I decided to reinstall thinking it had something to do with the crash, so I reinstalled. No crash, everything went smoothly. I got to my K desktop and everything that was installed was there on the menu. Then I installed Mozilla and Bittorrent and *poof*. Almost all programs that were on there are gone. Konqueror refuses to start. I can't load the desktop configuration thing for K either. drakConf will start if I run it from the console. But what happened to everything on the start menu? One second it had everything I chose on install, and the next everything was gone... ? If anyone knows a cure for this I'd be very grateful!

Try running "menudrake". This will go through and setup the menus and clean things up when you "save" after you have selected the "environment".

PS There are several updates to the configuration tools to be downloaded with Mandrake Update that will fix some of these bugs.

I loaded Menu Drake and it has everything in there that's supposed to be on the menu, but none of it shows up. How do I get to Mandrake Update?

Okay, I ran undate, but it didn't do anything. However, I found another page with someone who had the exact same problem. So if anyone else has this problem, the way to fix it is to open Menu Drake, click File, then click Save. And it will rebuild the menu and replace all the missing items.

Lightbulb does it really fix the problem?

I did what you guys mentioned before but I cant help thinking that the original menu, right after the installation, seemed like it had more stuff. this menu seems kindda small, altough it looks better than it does after the menu crashes.
