We are intending to use LVM for file protection. Now the problem is the hard disk is partitioned into a Swap and a / partition and there is no unallocated space and we cannot convert the root partition into a physical volume. But there is some free space on the partition which can be used as a protected area and mirrored on the other disk. So can some one help me how to proceed?
wht i thought was :
1> Can / partition be coverted to PV online?
2> How can we use the free space to create a block device which can be converted into a PV and resized online?
Any help in this area would be highly appreciated.
