logging passwords (using PAM)

is it possible to log passwords using PAM? and if so maybe one example could be given?

in fact I want to log pop3 account login passwords. as pop3 daemon i'm using vm-pop3d ... i need those passwords since I'd like to switch to Cyrus as pop3/imap-server.

any solution besides patching user.c ?

i didn't really require pam for this, I just thought besides a packet sniffer it would be the best option. but PHoss is a great packet sniffer so if anybody wants to log POP3/IMAP/FTP/etc passwords give it a shot:
