Hello Everyone. I'm running RH7.2 with the KDE desktop and have come across a little problem. Whenever I try to access utilities such as "linuxconf", "kcpumon", "kcpuload" I'm told that the command is unknown. I'm probably missing something blindingly obvious but any help would be appreciated. Thanks
linuxconf isn't installed by default no longer, buggy, unstable and not worth 2 cents.
the others not totally sure, try performing a search on them, might not be in your path to execute, and or try performing this logged in as root if you aren't logged in as root.
If you like linuxconf, install it from RH cds. Kcp* programs are KDE applets, I suppose. So check is they are installed (if not, install them). There'll be no single package kcpumon or kcpuload.
If you're getting that kind od error, you hvae either one of 2 problems. Either the location of these functions is not in your path, or you don't have them loaded. A simple way to find out is to do:
find / -name linuxconf -print
Replace linuxconf with the name of any other package your loking for. A good admin program you may want to look into would be webmin. Good luck. -mk

That won't find linuxconf, as its not installed by default like I mentioned before. Like Mara stated, if you want linuxconf installed, it is still included on the RH cd's. Basically you stated what I already said, not in path or not installed ?? Do we need to tell him twice ?? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I just see it as pointless to say it twice for him.... I would hope he would get it the first time.
