Hey all, Linux newbie here having some struggles. I have an Acer Chromebook 15.6 and I really dislike the chrome OS. I followed instructions on another forum for replacing chrome OS and it worked..sort of. I had Ubuntu and Xubuntu on at two different points. However, I had some major issues and had to restore back to Chrome OS. SO I"m hoping someone here has successfully done this, so I can (once again) put linux on this and have it working right.
Here are the two problems I ran into: 1. For some reason, anytime i chose "restart" on ubuntu, during boot it would drop down to busybox shell. Easily fixed by turning it off and back on again, but still annoying.
2. This was my major issue. Ubuntu and Xubuntu both wouldn't see my sound card! I tried some fixes that i found online, to no avail. So I'm really hoping someone on here has successfully done this and can tell me how to rectify it. Until then, guess I"m using Chrome OS
