drm_kms_helper: panic ocurred, switching back to text console
A few suggestions how you can improve the question.

What messages are issued before this one?
You talk about errors (plural); are there other errors?
What are your system specifications (software and hardware)?
This is a rather specific error message. Have you found anything on the internet? I get over 2000 results, but since you don't provide any context at all, it's impossible to guess which result (if any) matches your situation.
Of the more than 33 different editions of "linux mint" how about some specivity? You're welcome.
This is on Linux Mint. And I didn't describe a lot more because there's much else happening. The laptop boots up, it prompts me with grub boot selection, it continues to boot into the installation. and then it gives me that error, and stays there forever.

Running Linux Mint on a Laptop Lenovo. G560. Intel 2.1 4G 270G of disk
and it seems to be something related to the kernel
first lines of error on console screen:
Code:
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000100
follows some info about cpu and bios version.
Did it ever boot correctly?
When would that have occurred?
What changed since then?
yeah, I've been using this laptop with Linux Mint for about 2 years now. I just booted into a livecd and I have in my /boot dir two different version of kernel: 3.13 and 3.11, my current installation boots into 3.13, so I renamed everything 3.13 to something else with extension backup just in case. And booted up using my previous version menu, which points to 3.11, but the results are the same keep getting "kernel Panic"...
What graphics card do you have and did you install the proprietary driver for your graphics card?
you know what!.. it's been such a long time since I did this installation that I don't even remember. I asume I did since it never complained about video stuff or gave me any problems...
