Question Linux MAX File sixe???


Hi All,
Can somebody please tell me ASAP whether or not Linux 7.0 has a max file size and what it is?? 1GB, 2GB ???

it depends on the kernel.. 2.4.x or later can support over 2 gig i believe..

Unhappy MAX file size

Do you know perhaps what the max file size is kernel 2.2.16???

iirc, there was something in theregister.co.uk saying it was actually somewhere around 40TB now.

2.2.x kernel systems seem to be limited to 2g, before patching the kernel.

2.2 had a filesize limit of 2 gb... 2.4 had the same limitation for early versions... IIRC, but it's up to 40 tb now.
