linux boot problem on dual boot mac mini

Hi everyone,

I have an intel mac mini that I've had for a few months. Back when I first got it I installed FC6 as a dual boot using bootcamp to repartition, and rEFIt to pick the OS on boot. I think I'm also using grub, but I don't remember. This worked beautifully until last night when something odd happened with Linux, and I did a hard reboot. Since then the boot process has not worked for linux (although Mac OS still boots ok). When I choose linux from rEFIt, the screen goes blank and nothing happens. I tried upgrading to the latest version of rEFIt, and then it booted one time to linux just fine, and then not again since then. I also tried booting from some linux live CDs through rEFIt, and by holding the "c" button on startup, and it worked only once, but not any other time. This whole time, Mac OS has continued to work flawlessly. Any ideas?

Do a memory test, your Mac OS may require a lower amount of memory.

Well, the live CDs I tried were Puppy linux and Damn Small Linux which each require much less memory than Mac OS (and neither worked), so I'm thinking that's probably not it...
