Question Kali VM not booting - "Started Update UTMP about System Runlevel Changes."

Hello all, I have to admit I am quite new to Linux but I had quite some fun so far.

Now, I created a Kali Linux virtual machine with VirtualBox and everything worked fine with some tutorials. My host pc is running Windows 7.
I updated the OS, downloaded a lot of stuff with the update distr command, nothing special in my noobish opinion.
Then I came to the point where I installed VB GuestAddition, I think that was the exact name. That was the last time I remembered the system working.

After booting the VM, I get these messages and then everything stops working, nothing happens:

Code:
A start job is running for LSB: thin initscript (time runs down)

Started LSB: thin initscript
Reached target Multi-User System
Reachted target Graphical Interface.
Starting Update UTMP about System Runlevel Changes...
Started Update UTMP about System Runlevel Changes.
I have literally tried every solution you can find when googling "Started Update UTMP about System Runlevel Changes" and some other entries but I can not for the sake of god make this work.

I would really appreciate help on how to get my VM working again quickly...

at first, please read this: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ad-4175614092/
Next, the message you posted is not an error message, the problem you need to solve comes after that. As you can read: [Successfully] Started Update UTMP about System Runlevel Changes. But I have no idea what was the next step and what [which one] went wrong [at all].
