Cool Just a question on stability of kernel 2.4.6

I compiled the 2.4.6 kernel and I can only boot it in text mode, for some reason it just can't start xwindows. I could have made a mistake, it was the first kernel I have compiled, but I thought maybe someone knows if it is stable or not. If it isn't, what kernel would you suggest?

Most of the 'vanilla' kernel are very stable. I've never had a problem with any. You sure that you haven't missed out something like AGP support for you video card that is expected by X??

cheers

Jamie...

I recompiled the kernel and now it works fine, thanks for the reply though.
