[SOLVED] Issues with Grub

Hi All,

I was before using Ubuntu on my laptop, then one day happened that i couldnt turn my pc due to Grub loading error.

I format my pc, and install fedora.
2 weeks after, i had again problem with loading Grub.

why i am always facing problem with grub? is it cause i have some bad sectors on my pc and deleting the grub file?

Hi there,

What happens when you try and boot - how far do you get?

You might want to have a look at SystemRescueCD, which contains a number of tools on a live CD that may be of help. For GRUB recovery, have a look at http://www.sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-P...a-damaged-Grub.

As far as bad sectors are concerned, you can test for this with tools like Smartmontools (look at "smartctl -l selftest", and see http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/badblockhowto.html). This is also available on SystemRescueCD.
