Grub issues

Hi I am trying to isntall Grub - as lilo appears to have had some problems with the latest versions of kernel 2.6.

Overall this should be fairly easy to do, however it isn't working out that way.

Every time I try to install Grub on my MBR (or anywhere else for that matter, I get a weird error message saying:

grub> setup (hd0)
 Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... no
 Checking if "/grub/stage1" exists... no

Error 15: File not found

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

So did you remove lilo completely before installing grub.

Get a Windows boot floppy and type
fdisk /mbr

Now try installing grub.

Hope this helps.
