Internet Problem!

Hi,
I am using Slackware 10.0 and I jsut created an internet connection (dial up)
using pppsetup. Then running ppp-go.
I am connected to the internet but no web-related program works. Neither mozilla, netscape, gaim...they all say they cant find what they are looking for. I am positive it's connected because it tells me so and I tried doing PING and I recieve packages back whihc proves I am connected. I am totally new to linux and I have no clue on what to do. HELPPPPP!

thanks,
matteo

Interesting, I never knew about pppsetup!
I set up my internet connection in Slackware 10.0 using Kppp found in Kmenu > Internet> kppp
Pretty easy tool to use.

I believe you need to add the addresses of your DNS servers to /etc/resolv.conf:

search local
nameserver 4.2.2.1
nameserver 4.2.2.2

Of course, yours will be different. You can get these from your provider.

if you're using dial-up, configure KPPP to run your internet connection...

DONE!

Thans Franklin,
I called my internet provider and they told me the DNS servers. I plugged them into the file and everything seems to work.
THanks a lot.
