International language keyboard layout tables for remapping - Where are they?

I am looking for the language keyboard layout mapping files in Fedora, specifically Linpus on the Acer Aspire One. I want to edit the mapping for the Russian keyboard. This would be the file accessed by the square blue language flag in the lower right corner of the desktop.

I am not referring to the Redhat SCIM add-on, which uses its own set of international keyboard mapping (BIN files in mnd/home/.scrim/user-tables/). Instead I am looking to edit what I assume to be international keyboard layouts that are fairly generic (to Fedora? to all Linux distros?)

Can anyone tell me where the international keyboard mapping files are? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The list of available layouts is either in /usr/share/X11/rules/xorg.xml and the layouts themselves are in /usr/share/X11/symbols, ALTERNATIVELY /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ru (this is for *buntu).

It's very easy to remap - I've done it with Ukrainian keyboard - just switch key names in symbols file.
