Intellimouse in Slackware

hello. i recently installed slack on a laptop and i'm having some trouble getting my usb intellimouse to work in X.

i think i have everything enabled alright in my kernel. when i boot my machine, it mentions a new device being found on usb, but no driver claiming it.

here's what my XF86Config-4 file looks like for my mice:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "yes"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
EndSection

any help would be appreciated. thanx! :-)

oh, i figured this out yesterday. i had my mouse input core support compiled as modules and not directly into the kernel.

problem solved. :-)
