install suse over rh remotely
Okay, heres my problem. I hate RH. I've spent the last 2 days trying to upgrade my apache server and all the mods to no avail (using various methods, such as RPM, up2date, yum, ...)
I've decided I'm going to install Suse. The server I am doing this on is in another state. I have SSH and root access.
What is the best way to go about installing Suse over an existing linux install remotely? Right now, my partitions are:
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda2 38093000 10640740 25517232 30% /
/dev/hda1 101089 24296 71574 26% /boot
none 191512 0 191512 0% /dev/shm
But I am not attached to that partition configuration.
I'm guessing that I need to d/l a Suse ISO, and mount it on loopback... but will the installation cause issues since I am installing over the currently operating RH? Does the Suse install ok with only a shell? (no gui since I'm not local)?
Thanks.
