information about wireless drv

Hi, I'm a Ubuntu user (K. 2.6.32-19) and it's about 6 month that at every new kernel release I install, I'm hoping to find out native drv support for my wifi usb adapter (Sitecom 300N - WL-577 / WL-323) but for now, I'm still using ndiswrapper...

I'd like to know what is the correct way to verify if a new kernel release will supports my network adapter, before install it.

Otherwise is it possible to compile a new kernel custom setup with a specific driver support?

Thanks in advance
Alex

There is always a changelog released with a kernel update. Reading through that would tell you about any new devices supported.

You can compile any drivers you want into a kernel, and exclude everything you don't need. This is a great way to optimize your system. But that doesn't really help you until the kernel gets support for it in the first place.
