icons in fluxbox ?

is there any programs which I can use to display a line of icons in fluxbox ? I know the developers have created FBdesk, but I find that very buggy, I also tried to install idesk but that wouldnt compile :| I just want a row of icons of my most frequently used programs (xterm, bitchx etc.) in a corner of the screen (bit like a small version of gkrellm or the slit just for launching progs)

suggestion: if you use gkrellm already then you can download the plugin called "GKrellMLaunch" here:
http://gkrellmlaunch.sourceforge.net
you don't need icons and you can put in as many as you want

Rox can set up icons for ya, just in case you're still wondering.

BTW, there is the power of key-bindings.

as you're on *box i'd not recommend gkrellm as *boxalready has a slit, which you can use a proper doc app to do the same thing, i think there's one called wmlauch, it'll do the same thing as gkrellm's launcher but be much more integrated into the wm layout

why wouldnt you "recommend" it ? works fine here looks alot nicer than most of the dockaps for the slit too

just cos the slit is integrated that's all, so it will fit in with the style you're using etc...

of course gkrellm does generally look more "l33t" if you prefer that...

that is what i have done. i use the cmd <gkrellm -w &> and have no problems. i even have the slit "always on top" so i can always see it. no probs here. i guess it is all up to opinion.
