I don't mean to sound dumb, but did you try playing around using other cards?
I did just that in an old box where my chipset wasn't listed. Found something similar, and it worked just great.
well, i mean a new card costs money, that i dont really have, i feel bad, this frigging card cost me like $200 and its not even a year old. Its not even really that outdated yet...

Play around using other cards that are in the Xfree86 database...something's got to work resonably well. I found one that did, and really, you don't have anything to lose by it. It'll just take some futzing around.
