HP W2007 resolution issues

So I've got this older monitor, an HP W2007. The resolution I would like to use is 1680 x 1050. On my Fedora 15 system I do:

xrandr --newmode 1680x1050 146.25 1680 1784 1960 2240 1050 1053 1059 1089 -hsync +vsync

The numbers are what cvt spit out. Looks good, except for one thing. There is about 2 inches of unused black space on the left side of the display, and about 2 inches of stuff hidden off to the right.

How can I shift it to the left to actually fit? I've done some searching around but haven't found anything helpful, and I am no xrandr expert.

Well, sounds like you've created the displayed 'image' correctly, but usually the actual physical placement is set by the HW ctrls of the Screen itself, generally some (physical) buttons at the bottom of the monitor.

What is odd is that other resolutions are properly centered, it is just the one I want that is offset.
