HowTo adjust my refresh rate ?

First I would like to say HUGE thanks to this board. I have been silent until now, but have come back here so many times in the last two months to get this or that working. I am now running on mandrake 9.2 on a 2.4.22-26 kernel with the NVIDIA driver (had to mention that cause was a huge hurdle for me to get that working).

Now for my issue...

I can't seem to find out how to get my monitor to use a better(72+) refresh rate. I have looked at my XF86Config file and see that the modeline is there, but then when reading about modeline generation and monitor refresh, I found the info to be out of date if using a newer version of X. Am I trying to do this the hard way when the newer vrsion of X has a util built in to do this ?

Also a long time question...
How do I add /sbin to my user path ? I find that I have to traverse directories to do simple things like ifconfig which is annoying.

TYIA...

Bump...

I am hoping that a bump may initiate a response.

Since you use Fedora, you should be looking at XF86Config-4. Ibelieve that XF86Config is in for reference reasons.

As root, try changing your settings, beforehand, create a backup, so you can revert if needed. cp XF86Config-4 XF86Config-4.bak or whatever.
