How to resolve the "4mb page disable under this kernel"problem with the gfx driver
Hi all.
My pc is an athlon 2100+ with a via kt400 board and a ati radeon 9700 pro AIW.
I use mandrake 9.1 with kernel 2.4.21;i have the ati driver 3.7.0 succesfully installed(i think...)
Recently i have typed in the shell "dmesg"...and i have see a problem that i think is related to agp (i have read similar probs in this forum but i don't have read anything useful...)
Thje problem thast dmesg tell me is:
[fglrx] To use AGP on this CPU with this kernel, you really should have 4MB pages disabled. Use `mem=nopentium` on the bootloader commandline.
Now... where i have to put this mem:nopentium command?
I have tried to put it in "lilo.conf" in the very 3 line and after reboot if i type dmesg i have the very same problem.
Is something critical (like performance drop)or it's only a message that appear for default?
Thanks in advance.
