how to install wine offline?

Hi. I'm a real noob in linux and have just installed ubuntu 8.10. The question is how do I install WINE since I don't have access to the internet back home?

what s/w do you want/

where are you located?

You can get the whole ubuntu repository on dvds from some companies too or try 'apton cd' in a friends pc ?

If you have the .deb package, then
use gdebi or

#sudo dpkg -i wine*.deb
