Netscape offline install

RH 9

I have to use the offline download for Netscape 7.1 as I will likely get disconnected before the online one completes. Can't find any instructions on it (I did download the instructions but not there).

Do I put this in /usr/local/netscape when I untar it? I had it once and deleted it so there is an empty plugin dirctory there.

It is the gnu-sea.tar.gz and not the installer file. Do I need to give a command once I unpack it?

You're going to need to compile it. Do:
tar -zxvf <filename>
A directory will be created
cd to this directory
make install
make clean
This should install it to the proper directory. Good luck.
