i've tried some time ago a live,i think a kubuntu or a mint kde, with kde 4 but didn't want to install it because i found it too much unstable
i have already a fedora 9 dvd and i can download an opensuse 11; is kde4 stable the same in both of them or in one of them is more stable than in the other ?
I don't think it's stable enough on openSUSE 10.3
I've been updating it almost every minor update from the main opensuse kde4 repository and it still crushes from time to time(plasma mostly).
openSUSE 11.0 might be better, but I haven't tried it yet.

Thank you ! I won't install kde 4 in suse 10.3,in the case i will install suse 11 directly
I agree. It didn't work in 10.3 at all for me. I do have a problem sometimes playing Warcraft II in wine. Sometimes the cursor stops working and if I kill the prograam, I don't get the original screen back.
There are three things I miss. One is not being able to hide the toolbar. There isn't a run applet for the tool bar. Also, instead of show the desktop, you have "show widgets" which hides the windows, but revealing one window reveals them all. That is something I hate about XP. Good thing we still have virtual desktops.

I think most of that stuff is slated to be fixed in kde 4.1
