How can I reflash my bios?

I'm wanting to get PNP disabled so that I can get on the network with Fedora, but I first I need to reflash the BIOS.

I'm using a compaq presario 1700t, and when I bring up the BIOS it is a very limited, "custom," version of Phoenix BIOS 4.0. A member here explained that I need to reflash the bios to get PNP options disabled, but I'm not sure how to do this. If anyone could explain this to me, or somehow point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

you go to the manufactures site for your MB, download and follow their instructions for updating your BIOS.

dont screw it up or you will have to toss your MB in the trash can. that is unless you have an identical MB just laying around to swap chips out with with power to both.

Okay, thanks.

This might be a stupid question, but what does MB stand for?
