I would get the Mandrake 8.1 usually anything after .0 (ie 7.1, 7.2) is good because the first one is basically a beta to me, Mandrake always comes out with better more stable OS's after 6.0,7.0, and hopefully 8.0.

Col. Panic: Mandrake 8 defaults to lilo, not grub. The graphical OS-chooser screen doesn't look as spiffy as Red Hat's, but it's the same underlying code.

Incidentally, when I installed Mandrake 7.2, it gave me the option of using lilo as well.
