Having a little bit of trouble with the permissions on my network share

Hi all,

I have set up a Fedora 10 server at a small business. I am using it mainly as a file server. I create a share at /home/data/groupshare and moved all of the data from the existing server to this share. I need to know what the command would be to have read/write/modify priviledges on everything for root.user under this share(folders and files) and for the permissions to remain consistent even after a user edits the document. Right now, if a user edits a document, it changes the permissions and then users can no longer edit the document. Not sure what the command would be to achieve this. Thanks.
