Harddisk.


My server /home directory is using up soon. It running on Compaq Proliant and SCSI harddisk.

If i add a new SCSI harddisk, how do i add this new harddisk to the existing /home directory ???

pls advise...

is home on a seperate partition?

to replace it

format the new one for ext2 filesystem

mount the new disk and move everything over.

edit fstab and reboot

what if..i want to add this new harddisk to the current /home partition ??

You can check into LVM logical volume manager. be careful to backup data first so you don't wipe it all out.


The other option is linear raid I guess.
