I want to use linux on my notebook. (Toshiba SP6100) It would be a dual boot between XP and Mandrake 10. So far, no problem.
However:
The harddisc is encrypted through SafeGuard Easy. This is a low-level encryption solution which supports only Windows OS's. I can temporarily decrypt the harddisc for installation, but it has to work while the HDD is encrypted because of the sensitive data on the HDD.
Does anyone know if this is possible? I +think+ Windows uses a driver to encrypt en decrypt information on the fly. If there is another product that does the same job with the same level of security i'd like to know too.
I've got it working... well, the WinXP partition is encrypted, and the Linux (Mandrake 10.1) partition is not.
This is the way to do it:
1) Remove SafeGuard Easy completely
2) Resize the partition to make room for Linux
3) Install Linux with lilo bootloader
4) Boot to WinXP and re-install SafeGuard with PARTITION ENCRYPTION, not full-disk encryption.
5) TADAA!
